e-nivaran is the beginning of a new era in the Income Tax Department.
e-nivaran- a dream project of Indian Government and the Income Tax department has finally hit the floor. The e-nivaran facility is one of the most ambitious projects as it will bring about a huge difference in the way Income Tax department deals with common queries and tax related issues. The main aim of launching e-nivaran is to make the taxpayers happy and satisfied by resolving all their queries in time.
Know what e-nivaran is all about:
The e-nivaran is an online facility for redressal of taxpayers complaints related to refunds, ITRs, PAN as a part of its initiative to design a hassle free course for taxpayers when they have to deal with the Income Tax Department. e-nivaran stands for “Electronic Resolution” and that is what it will bring. You can share your issues with the Income Tax department via messages and emails. Besides this, the department has also launched new forms like- e-Income Tax Returns, forms for I-T appeals etc. These forms will be soon available to public and they will have to fill in all mandatory details like- full name, PAN card details, mobile number, and e-mail id etc.

How and where can I register with e-nivaran?
You can fill the form either at the official e-filling website of the department or you can fill it manually at the ASK- Aaykar Sampark Kendra. At present assesses in 260 cities can use this facility and very soon this project will be launched nationwide. You can look for the online form filling details here.
How will e-nivaran operate?
e-nivaran is a facility to benefit the taxpayers and clear all their tax related queries. Once a taxpayer gets registered with this facility he can share his tax related queries and grievances via e-mail and SMS. The e-portal of this facility is designed to redirect a particular grievance to the concerned department. Thereafter all the queries will be dealt by the Accessing Officer and the Supervisory Officer. e-nivaran’s portal is designed in such a way that it keeps track of the grievance and ensures that it is resolved in time. Initially, the resolution time was two months which is reduced to one month now.
What is e-nivaran capable of doing i.e the type of grievances that it can handle?
This facility will allow the registered taxpayers to file grievances; which are part of the jurisdiction of Finance Ministry and the Central Board of Direct Taxes. The list of grievances includes- Income Tax returns, tax refunds, delay in refunds, tax return scrutiny issues, TDS woes etc. All of the mentioned issues can be easily resolved by the e-nivaran portal. As mentioned by the officials of I-T department it is due to the efforts on PM Narendra Modi that finally this portal is launched. Mr Modi has also asked the Income Tax department to take care of all the issues of taxpayers and reduce the resolution time from two months to one month only. The redressing time may be reduced further once the portal is fully functional.
Please note: Even if you don’t have a PAN card but you have some issues of related with your Income Tax case, you can still use the e-nivaran facility. You will have to upload the documents in PDF format and convert it to ZIP format and upload it to the Income Tax department.
