Deactivated PAN can be a matter of concern for many Income Tax assesses since it is the fastest way to communicate with the Income Tax department however you should approach the IT department as soon as possible to avoid any repercussions that may follow and get PAN Reactivated. In any case if you have multiple PAN Cards, you need to get one of PAN deactivated.
Income Tax Department allows to get PAN Reactivated
With so many changes happening in India to help fall everything in place especially in the Indian Financial sector – the Income Tax Department has come up with yet another favorable step to deactivate the PAN of all those income tax assesses who have, in anyway, been allotted more than one more PAN.
Keeping in view the miscalculations and inaccurate tax assessment that has always been a major concern the Income Tax department will soon be deactivating all those PANs that were wrongly generated.
There are many cases where the PAN that is used to file income tax returns is deactivated and the other one still is activated. Once any PAN is deactivated then the assessee is unable to login to the Income Tax e-filing portal and that deprives him of filing IT-returns, viewing intimations, responding to IT department communications electronically and so on.
