Beware of Lottery Scams
Today it is very common to receive lottery scam emails which notify you that you have won some prize in a lottery with the promise of attractive cash prizes or any shopping voucher. They are often found to be fake even if they have a link.
If you can identify and avoid scams, you can decrease the chances of becoming a victim. Preventing is the best defense against scams.
The scammers trick you in a variety of ways but if you carefully go through the information on the pages and study them, you can save yourself from them.

If you receive information that you have won a lottery and you are not sure whether you entered it, the best option is to refuse. Ignore the call, delete the email or tear off the letter.
First thing to do is to learn what a lottery scam is and how it works. Also identify the spot the warning signs and know which action you have to take.
Examples of lottery scams:
Suppose you have received a mail stating you have won a lottery. Those who respond the emails are been asked to send certain amount of money as a “service fee” to receive their prize. People paying that money then receive another mail, asking for further amount. If you also pay that, you are asked for a courier fee for the purpose of sending your winning cheque. But in spite of making all due amounts, they never appear. Ultimately you realize that you have gained nothing.
Keep in mind you never entered any lottery, you cannot be the winner.
Many people are confused what to do about these Lottery Scams. Fact remains there are numerous lottery scams; as such it is not possible for the authorities to chase all of them.
